Who is responsible?
Aketek Industries AB is responsible for the personal data described here. Email legal@aketek.com. You can also reach us at info@aketek.com.
Visiting this website
You can browse products and download documents without an account. This website has no checkout, advertising pixels, embedded social feeds or remote fonts. Search and filters run in your browser. See our cookie information.
Serving a page requires technical information, including your IP address, the requested address and browser connection details. The website is hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.), which delivers the pages and processes access and security logs to deliver the site, diagnose faults and prevent abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a secure, working website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
Visitor statistics and search engines
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit the website, which pages they read, which websites referred them and how quickly pages load. It works without cookies or other storage on your device and does not identify you or follow you across websites. When a page loads, a small script sends anonymous information about the page view to Cloudflare, and we only see aggregated figures. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used so that we can improve it (Article 6(1)(f)).
We also use Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to see how the website appears in search results. These services add nothing to our pages; they show us aggregated search data that Google and Microsoft collect under their own privacy policies.
Contacting us
When you submit the support form, the website server validates your details and passes the message to Resend for delivery to info@aketek.com, which we manage in Microsoft 365. Required fields are your name, email address, topic and message. Company, product and serial number are optional. Typing alone does not send your message. A temporary security token and short-lived abuse controls protect submissions; they do not use cookies.
When you contact us, we use your name, contact details, organisation if provided, correspondence and relevant product or purchase information to answer your question. General enquiries and contacts made on behalf of a business are handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding and maintaining business relationships (Article 6(1)(f)). Steps you ask us to take towards a contract with you, and performance of that contract, rely on Article 6(1)(b). Records that we must keep to meet legal obligations rely on Article 6(1)(c).
Provide only information relevant to your request. Do not send payment-card details, passwords or sensitive health information. Contact details are voluntary, but without a way to reply we may be unable to help. A product fault report may require a model, serial number and evidence of purchase.
Newsletter
If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address to send you news about our products, events and trade fairs. We first email you a confirmation link; your address is only added to the list once you confirm. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)).
The list is stored with Resend (Resend, Inc.), which also sends the newsletter. Every newsletter has a link to unsubscribe, and you can also email info@aketek.com. We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Unconfirmed sign-ups are not added to the list; the confirmation link expires after 7 days.
Who receives information?
We use Microsoft 365 to receive and manage business email. Information is accessible to people who need it to handle the enquiry and to providers supporting our IT and website delivery. A distributor or service partner may receive information needed to fulfil a request involving them. Authorities or professional advisers may receive information where required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal claims. A distributor you contact directly is responsible for its own processing.
How long is information kept?
Our retention schedule is based on the purpose of each record, rather than indefinite consent:
| Record | Retention rule |
|---|---|
| General product enquiries | While active, then up to 12 months after the enquiry closes for follow-up. |
| Product support and warranty cases | While active, then up to 3 years after closure to handle recurring faults and related claims. |
| Records subject to accounting duties | For the applicable statutory period; only the information needed for that obligation is retained. |
| Records needed for a dispute or legal claim | Until the matter and applicable legal requirements have ended, with the reason for extended retention reviewed. |
Information that is no longer needed is deleted earlier where possible. Security logs are limited to the period needed for fault investigation and protection against abuse. An incident may require relevant log entries to be kept until it is resolved. Deleted email may remain temporarily in restricted recovery or backup systems before its scheduled removal.
International processing
Microsoft 365 processing is governed by the applicable Microsoft Data Protection Addendum. Processing locations depend on the service, tenant configuration and supporting providers; an EU tenant does not by itself mean that every processing activity stays within the EU/EEA. A transfer outside the EU/EEA requires a valid GDPR mechanism, such as an applicable adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses with any necessary additional safeguards. Contact us for the providers, processing locations and safeguards applicable to your data, and for a copy of relevant safeguards.
Cloudflare and Resend are based in the United States. Where their processing involves a transfer outside the EU/EEA, it relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the standard contractual clauses in the provider’s data processing terms.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, erasure or restriction of processing. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, explaining your particular situation. Where processing is automated and based on consent or a contract, you may have a right to data portability. If we rely on consent for a separate activity, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may object to direct marketing at any time.
Email legal@aketek.com to exercise a right. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month; if a legally permitted extension is necessary, we explain it within that month. Requests are normally free of charge.
You can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), or your local supervisory authority in the EU/EEA. You do not need to contact us first. This website does not carry out profiling or decisions with legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing.
Changes to this notice
The date above identifies this version. We update the notice when our processing changes and provide additional information where required. Visiting the website does not constitute consent to new processing.
Optional location in the distributor finder
Only when you select “Use my location” does your browser ask for location permission. Coordinates are used on your device to select a country and are not sent to or stored by Aketek. The selected country is kept only while the page is open. You can select a country manually or clear the selection at any time, and revoke location permission in your browser. Maps are served locally. Directions open an external map service only when you follow the link; that service processes data under its own policy.
